Happy Belated Fourth!
Well, this 4th of July wasn't quite as eventful for me as it has been in
recent years, say spending it in DC in 2005, or watching the shuttle
launch in Florida in 2006, but I did get the opportunity to rub some
blisters on my feet and bask in the joy of hundreds of screaming
children at a public park. That lasted about 20 minutes. Then, off to a
bar at the top of a downtown hotel to watch fireworks over the lake out
of a window. Much better.
Mind you, those were not my original plans, but the stars (or something) had other things in mind for me. This brings me to my thought for the day:
"Those who hold patience as their highest virtue do so because they have no others."
GK Chesterton
Cheers!
